About Us
The First Baptist Church of Lynn has been worshiping and serving God in the Lynn community for over 200 years. Founded in 1816, our church has been a place for followers of Jesus Christ to gather in worship, grow in faith, and serve others for generations.
Throughout our history, we have remained committed to sharing the love of Christ, supporting those in need, and providing a welcoming home for all who seek to know and follow Hi. As both our church and our community have grown and changed over the centuries, our mission has remained the same: to glorify God through worship, discipleship, and mission. Vision Statement
We envision the First Baptist Church of Lynn to glorify God by living as a holy and united body of believers, steadfast in faith, devoted to prayer, and committed to the service of Christ and His church, so that His Kingdom may be advanced on earth as it is in heaven.
Mission Statement
Having been led by the Spirit to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we covenant to:
- Walk together in Christian love, caring for one another according to the teachings of Scripture.
- Remain faithful in assembling for worship, prayer, and fellowship.
- Labor diligently for the spiritual growth, holiness, and service of the church.
- Contribute cheerfully and regularly to the ministry, the poor, and the spread of the Gospel.
- Instruct our children and seek the salvation of our families and neighbors.
- Live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present world, setting an example of integrity and faithfulness.
- Bear one another’s burdens in times of joy and sorrow, and unite with another fellowship of believers when we move from this place.
FBC Covenant
Having been led to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, Lord and Master, and relying on God for help, we solemnly covenant with each other:
That we will work together in Christian love: exercise care and watchfulness over one another; and when necessary, warn and admonish one another according to the guidelines of Scripture.
That we will not forsake the assembling of ourselves together for worship, instruction, fellowship and ministry; and that we will not neglect the duty of prayer for ourselves and others.
That we will work for the advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness and service; that we will contribute regularly and cheerfully to support the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel throughout the world.
That we will educate our children in the ways of the Lord, and that we will seek the salvation of our family members and neighbors.
That we will live our lives moderate, righteous, and Godly; that we will be trustworthy and honest in our dealings; faithful in carrying out our obligations; and try to set a positive example for others to follow in all our behavior.
That we will bear each other's burdens; aid each other in sickness and distress and participate in each other's joy.
That when we move from this place. We will unite ourselves with another church where we can live out the spirit of this covenant.
